Bevy’s Mandarin Margarita!

Fri, Jul 21, 23

The Margarita is my go-to cocktail during the summer months. I can't think of another cocktail as refreshing to beat the heat. This is a variation of a marvelous one I enjoyed last week, at The Tavern Bar in Omaha, Nebraska. (They used passionfruit juice!) I decided to use Mandarin juice and a sour lime cordial, and the resulting cocktail is citrus forward and very complex.

In a cocktail shaker add the ingredients below.

2 oz Mandarin juice

1/2 oz of Leopold Brothers Sour Lime cordial

1 teaspoon of Sonoma Syrup Meyer Lemon simple syrup

Squeeze of fresh lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon of Madre Mezcal *Ensemble*

2 oz of Ocho Reposado

Pinch of maldon salt or kosher salt

Shake vigorously for 5 seconds and serve in an old-fashioned rocks glass and garnish with a slice of mandarin, a slice of lime and a sprig of Rosemary.

Tequila Ocho El Nacimiento Reposado Tequila

Leopold Bros. Sour Lime Cordial

Madre Mezcal ‘Ensemble’

Sonoma Syrup Co. Meyer Lemon Simple Syrup

Cheers!
