Harvey & Harriet Red Wed, Dec 13, 23 Our Wine of the Week is Harvey & Harriet Red, a bold red blend from San Luis Obispo. This wine is made by Eric Jensen, the winemaker of the highly acclaimed Booker Vineyard. As Jensen typically makes heavy hitting and higher cost wines, he made Harvey & Harriet in honor of his parents, creating a high-quality wine that his parents would love and could afford. Harvey & Harriet is comprised of more than 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as a smattering of Petit Verdot, Syrah, Petit Sirah, Malbec, Grenache and Cabernet Franc. It's aged 18 months in French oak. This deep ruby hued wine has aromas of cocoa, spice, brown sugar, and leather, accompanied by notes of blackberry, fig, and currant. Harvey & Harriet is boisterous and juicy, but with enough tannin and density to give it a lustrous long finish. American Bordeaux blends such as this would pair nicely with a prime rib roast, ribeye, venison, glazed or well-seasoned ham, and many other bold holiday dishes. The 2021 vintage scored 93 points from James Suckling. By Scott Smith
