A Beautiful Orange Wine for the Adventurous Wine Drinker!

Wed, Sep 27, 23

Located in Oregon's Willamette Valley, within the Van Duzer Corridor AVA, Johan Vineyards is an 85-acre, certified Biodynamic estate winery. Their goal is to create a self-sustained holistic farm system with the energy to produce an honest expression of itself, to share with others.

2021 Johan Vineyards Maceration Van Duzer Corridor AVA Willamette Valley, is an *Orange wine, a wine crafted from white grapes and allowed skin contact during the wine making process. The grapes utilized here are 40% Kerner, 30% Friulano and 30% Grüner Veltliner, which are all prime candidates for orange wine production. All three varietals were fermented separately and kept on their skins for 17-25 days, pressed at dryness and aged in neutral barrels separately and blended before being bottled in September 2022. The bouquet is an abundance of kumquat, quince, Honeycrisp apple, jasmine tea, and dried chamomile. The mouthfeel is shows you pear, apple, quince and a nuance of raspberry and green tea.

This is a stunning bottle of wine for the adventurous wine drinker! Enjoy this with a great meal.
