The Perfect under $40 Cabernet Sauvignon!

Fri, Sep 29, 23

Fred and Nancy Cline started Cline Family Cellars in 1982 in Oakley, California, making their first vintages from original plantings of Mourvèdre, Zinfandel and Carignane, some of which dated back to the 1880s. In 1989, to expand their small business, they purchased a beautiful property in the Los Carneros region of Sonoma County. The location they selected enticed them with a rich, historical past and beautiful, rolling hills, that had never been planted to grape vines. There was ample space for their growing family, which today includes seven talented independent, and creative children.

2021 Cline Family Cellars Rock Carved Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley has just arrived, and we're excited to introduce you to this jewel in a bottle. In prehistoric times, rock carried by a rampaging Russian river, carved the Alexander valley. The sedimentary rock left behind defines the vineyard soil, while the towering hills trap the summer heat like an oven. The Rio Lago Vineyard has been owned and managed by the Horowitz family since 1990. Originally a small cattle operation with small vineyard plantings, Rio Lago, sits at the western foothills of the Mayacamas Mountain range, and experiences one of the wettest microclimates within the Alexander Valley AVA. Rock Carved Cabernet Sauvignon shows aromas of dark cherries, plums, and blackberries with nuances of spices, chocolate, and cedar. The mouthfeel mirrors this perfectly, it's full-bodied, layered, and complex with balanced tannins on the perfectly structured finish.

This is a great bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon that rivals wines costing double the price.
