The perfect white wine for the ‘anything but Chardonnay’ crowd!

Fri, Jan 12, 24

At Bevy's Liquor World, we taste hundreds of wines a year to hand pick the best ones for you. Last year, we found an incredible portfolio of wines that we know you will love. Mary Taylor partners with European grower producers or small cooperatives, whose viticulture practices align with values of sustainability, minimal intervention, and artisanship.

2022 Pascal Biotteau Anjou Blanc is part of the Mary Taylor portfolio. Anjou is mostly known for its red wines vinified from Cabernet Franc. They also produce tiny amounts of white wine vinified from Chenin Blanc. They is a fairly priced alternative to blue chip Vouvray wines, that can cost up to 3 times the price. Bright, high-toned, with aromas of Jonagold apple, quince, white peach, beeswax, and a nuance of white floral notes. The mouthfeel is full bodied and very focused. Built upon a framework of white peaches, fresh cut apples, Meyer lemons, and finishing with a beautifully integrated structure with pin-point balance. This the perfect white wine for the "anything but chardonnay" crowd. So delicious, and perfect for cream-based pasta sauces, lighter styled fish dishes or all by itself.
