The ultimate off the beaten path wine for your Thanksgiving meal!

Mon, Nov 13, 23

At Bevy’s Liquor, world we taste hundreds of wines a year to handpick the best ones for you at the best prices.  We tasted the wines of Vincent Wine Company and we were thrilled by them. Owner and winemaker Vincent Fritzsche launched the winery in 2009 after years of apprenticing for wineries in Oregon and California. He is all about low-input wine making and works with several sustainably farmed vineyards around the Willamette Valley to produce small amounts of handmade wine without additives or a lot of fuss.

2022 Vincent Wine Company Pinot Gris Willamette Valley is an anomaly in that section of the Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris aisle. Why? This is a red Pinot Gris! This is crafted in the same manner as a red wine would be, with extended skin contact in open top fermentation barrels of neutral oak with wild yeasts that occur naturally on the grape, in the vineyard, and the ambient air of the winery. Aromas of Marasca cherries, strawberries, tangerine, fragrant wild herbs and a hint of rose petals and orange blossoms. The mouthfeel is rich, with a juicy beam of raspberries, blood orange, crisp red apple, roasted rhubarb tart and the slightest hint of a red sweet tea that lingers on the finish. My suggestion is to decant this wine in a covered decanter for at least an hour, and treat it like you would a red wine, because it actually is. This is the ultimate off the beaten path wine for your Thanksgiving meal.
