The ultimate Sauvignon Blanc for all of your holiday meals!

Fri, Dec 15, 23

Kathy Joseph is recognized as a pioneer amongst women winemakers. She established Fiddlehead Cellars in 1989 to capture the pure essence of two distinguished grape varietals- Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. The rest is history. She is now producing 5,000 cases annually and is one of California's world class boutique wine producers. She credits her wine making sensibilities to many years of industry mentoring from people like Zelma Long of Simi Winery, Walter Schug and Craig Williams of Joseph Phelps, Bob Long and Sandy Belcher of Long Vineyards and Bob Pecota of Robert Pecota Winery, as well as her graduate studies in enology and viticulture at the University of California, Davis.

2018 Fiddlehead Cellars Sauvignon Blanc Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara is a phenomenal bottle of wine from this magical grape. It is fresh and ripe with creamy, silky textures and patterned after the great Pouilly-Fumé and Bordeaux Blanc wines of France. This particular vintage was sourced from a selection of Star Lane Vineyard fruit, from very old vines that have since been replanted. Aromas of white peach, meyer lemon, pear and nuances of white flowers and oceanic influences. The mouthfeel mirrors this perfectly, with the waves of silky fruit leaving quite an impression.

Only 294 cases produced. The ultimate Sauvignon Blanc for all of your holiday meals. A fantastic value!
