Located in Südtirol Alto Adige, the northernmost wine producing region in Italy. The grapes here are pampered by the Mediterranean sun, shaped by the Alpine landscape, vinified by experienced wine growers, and prized by wine connoisseurs throughout the world. These wines are magic in a bottle.

2020 Tenuta J. Hofstätter Lagrein Südtirol Alto Adige is a hidden gem of a wine. The varietal Lagrein accounts for only 9% of the wine produced in Alto Adige. Descending from Teroldego, and related to Syrah, Pinot Noir and Dureza, this a magical grape with an ancient history. Dark and opaque with aromas of plums, blackberries, cherries , and violets. The mouthfeel is a rush of blueberries, blackberry coulis, wild herbs, and spices wrapped in velvety tannins on the fresh finish. Adaptable to a variety of cuisines from beef bourguignon, light fish dishes, or even ethnic foods. This will be your new favorite red wine.
